What is RoHS testing?
RoHS is a mandatory standard formulated by EU legislation. Its full name is the "Restriction of Hazardous Substances".
This standard has been formally implemented since July 1, 2006, and is mainly used to standardize the material and process standards of electronic and electrical products, making it more conducive to human health and environmental protection.
RoHS detection identification
RoHS test product range
The scope of RoHS directive covers the electronic and electrical products listed in the catalogue below AC1000V and DC1500:
1. Large household appliances: refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, etc;
2. Small household appliances: vacuum cleaner, electric iron, hair dryer, oven, clock, etc;
3. IT and communication instruments: computers, fax machines, telephones, mobile phones, etc;
4. Civil installations: radio, television, video recorder, musical instrument, etc;
5. Lighting fixtures: fluorescent lamps other than household lighting, lighting control devices;
6. Electric tools: electric drill, lathe, welding, spray, etc. (except for large industrial tools to be installed);
7. Toys/entertainment, sports equipment: electric vehicles, video game machines;
8. Medical instruments: radiation therapy instrument, ECG tester, analysis instrument, etc;
9. Monitoring/control equipment: smoke detector, thermostat, factory monitoring control machine, etc;
10. Vending machine;
Among them, RoHS Directive does not apply to Articles 8 and 9. The above are all within the scope of testing business.
Preparation of RoHS testing and certification data
1. Only heavy metal detection: about 5-10g for solid and 5-10mL for liquid;
2. Only brominated flame retardants are tested: about 10-20g for solid and 10-20mL for liquid;
3. Detection of heavy metals and organic pollutants: provide about 20-30g of samples;
4. Detection of other organic pollutants: provide about 30g of samples;
5. Only samples of coating (coating) parts shall be tested, and the approximate weight of coating (coating) material parts shall be indicated; If the weight of the coating (coating) part can not meet the requirements of sample delivery, the coating (coating) raw materials shall be provided.
RoHS inspection factory inspection
Factory inspection is not required, but RoHS generally requires a one-year validity period. In fact, the RoHS test report itself is only based on the analysis of the product. As long as your product material, production process and process remain unchanged, the test report can be effective for a long time.
RoHS testing and certification cycle
RoHS integrates 5 working days for less than 20 groups, 7 working days for more than 20 groups, and 5 working days for RoHS testing.
